Destroy a Vault Robot Rarities, Explained
How robot rarities work in Destroy a Vault: what rare and rarest robots mean for your army, how rarity affects vault damage, and what the game actually confirms.
What are robot rarities in Destroy a Vault?
Robots in Destroy a Vault come in rarity tiers, and the game’s own description frames the whole system as a collection goal: “Can you collect the rarest robots?” When you roll for robots, the result is drawn from these tiers — rarer robots are harder to hit and stronger in the job the game cares about: tearing open your vault for Gold. The exact tier names, colors and odds display in the roll UI in-game; what matters strategically is the same at every tier.
What rarity actually does for your army
The official loop is explicit: roll for rare robots → build an army → attack your vault → smelt the Gold into Cash. Rarity feeds that loop at two points:
- Damage output. Your robots are the ones cracking the vault — the game’s promotional art shows tanks scaling from a 10-DPS runt to a 1M-DPS monster as upgrades stack up. Rarer robots start further up that curve.
- Long-term earning. Robots earn Gold while you are offline. A stronger army keeps producing at a higher rate, so rarity compounds even when you are not playing.
The promotional artwork also shows the payoff side: damage popups of +67,000 to +99,000 per hit on burst moments. Real numbers depend on your army and your vault tier — in-game values always apply.
Rarity versus upgrades: which wins?
A question every player hits early: keep rolling for rare robots, or spend Cash upgrading the ones you have? The honest framing, based on how the systems interlock:
- Rolling widens your ceiling — a new rare robot can outclass everything you own.
- Upgrading raises your floor — it makes the army you already field hit harder, and it is the reliable, deterministic spend.
- Army building turns both into output — more robots on the vault means more simultaneous damage. See building your robot army.
Early on, upgrades on a small core tend to pay back faster than chasing rare rolls. Once your income smoothes out, push rolls again — the rarest robots are the game’s stated endgame collection goal.
Does rarity change how you attack vaults?
Not mechanically — every robot you deploy contributes damage to the vault assault regardless of tier. What rarity changes is how much and how fast, which decides which vault tiers you can realistically crack. Stronger vaults pay more, so rarity is effectively the key that unlocks the higher rungs of the vault ladder.
Co-op matters here too: servers hold up to six players, and the BOSSES update pushes exactly this fantasy — several armies of tanks piled onto one ornate boss vault. Read the boss vault raids guide for that layer.
What we could not verify (and why we say so)
Specific tier names, drop rates and per-tier damage numbers are not published in any official source for this game — the Roblox listing and the developer description speak of “rare” and “rarest” robots without a table. Any site quoting exact odds or a full robot value list right now is estimating. We stick to what the official channels confirm, and mark everything else as in-game-values-apply. When the developer publishes numbers, this page updates.
